RAYMOND EMERY BUTLER I
Raymond Emery Butler I, 89, of Moriarty passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Albuquerque. Raymond was born in Oak Hills, Kansas, on Aug. 16, 1920, to Doss Milton and Isabel (Payne) Butler. Raymond married Loraine Perry on Sept, 4, 1965. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2009. Mr. Butler had lived in Moriarty since 1972, having previously lived in Albuquerque and Kansas. He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Moriarty. He graduated from Chapman High School in Chapman, Kansas, in 1939. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Army Corps of Engineers. Raymond was a member of the American Legion, and Past Master of Masonic Lodge No. 33 in Estancia. He was also Past Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 23 in Estancia. He was a Rainbow Dad for many years and a supporter of The Boys and Girls Ranch of New Mexico. He graduated from Brown Mackie School of Business. Raymond was a funeral service attendant at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary for 12 years. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers Marvin Butler and Boyd Butler; grandsons Tyler Butler and Kevin Teahan; and great-granddaughter, Kaylee Teahan. He is survived by his sons, David Van Bibber of Moriarty, Michael Teahan of Moriarty, Rhett Butler and his wife Maile, of Edgewood and Raymond E. Butler II of Edgewood, daughters, Elizabeth Peterson and her husband Richard of Surprise, Ariz. and Rhonda Cox and her husband Butch of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Kenny Butler and his wife, Ramona, and Johnny Butler and his wife, Juanita; sister, Eunice Gingrich and her husband, Lloyd; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Thursday, March 18, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty. The funeral will be Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Moriarty. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty. Pallbearers will be Boyd Butler, Tommy Crosswhite, Allen Brandon, J. Morrow Hall, Rob Goodlander and Wayne Lint. Honorary pallbearers will be RJ Butler and Robert Cox. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Rainbow Girls Group No. 60, PO Box 552, Estancia, NM 87016. Harris-Hanlon Mortuary MARGARETHE E. MONTOYA-JONES Margarethe E. Montoya-Jones, 64, of Moriarty passed away on Mach 14, 2010. Margarethe was born in Germany on March 14, 1946. Margarethe had lived in Moriarty for the past 16 years, having previously lived in San Diego, Calif. She was married to Leonard Charles Jones Jr. of Moriarty. She was a sales clerk at the Travel America Center in Moriarty. Margarethe was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Johnny Montoya and his wife, Theresa, of Albuquerque, and Andy Montoya of Austin, Texas; and nine grandchildren. There will be a memorial service Friday, March 19, at 11 a.m. at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty. Harris-Hanlon Mortuary FRANCES LUNA Frances Luna passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010, in Albuquerque at the age of 63. She was born in Tajique and resided in Estancia throughout her life. She was a member of the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Margarita Barela; brother, Manuel Barela; and granddaughter, Brandi Crider. Mrs. Luna is survived by her husband, Andy Luna; daughters, Norma and husband, Alfredo Lopez, Juanita and boyfriend, Tomas Vialpando, and Judy and husband, Brian Crider; sisters, Ida, Trini, Lourdes and husband, Frank Hernandez, Delora, Betty and husband, Abraham Carreon, and Rose; as well as four grandchildren, Brian Crider, Dustin Kayser, Estevan Maestas and Tori Crider; and numerous family and friends. The funeral will be held Thursday at St. Peter and Paul Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Estancia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith, Abraham, Michael, Charles, Louie, Marion, Mike and Frank. Honorary pallbearers will be Betty Jo, Brian, Dustin, Estevan, Tori, Roy, Danny, Joshua, Rudy, George and Mateo. Salazar & Sons Mortuary BETTY (ANNA) NEWMAN Betty (Anna) Newman, went to be with her Lord on March 12, 2010. She was 88 at the time of her passing. She was a longtime resident of New Mexico, sharing time in both Edgewood and Albuquerque. She dedicated her life to serving faithfully in her church, and recently was attending Alameda Bible Church in Albuquerque. She was active in the Edgewood Lions Club and senior center before moving back to Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Vince, 92; son, Bobby Newman and wife, Dottie; daughter, Nancy Siegel and husband, Rick; two granddaughters, Kara Siegel and Davine Sanchez and husband, Manuel. She also had four great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Risse', Ethan, and Alyssa, of whom all will miss spending special times and nights with her. A memorial will be held to celebrate Betty's life on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Alameda Bible Church, 220 El Pueblo Road NW. An online guestbook for Betty is at RememberTheirStory.com. French Mortuary BRUNO C. GURULE Bruno C. Gurule, died March 10, 2010. He was born in Albuquerque on June 6, 1914. He was a third-degree Grand Knight and was a World War II veteran. Bruno is survived by his wife, Sophie Gurule; son, Joseph Gurule; two granddaughters, Anita Duran and husband, Vince Duran, and Jovanna Gurule; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Jade Duran. He resided in Moriarty, where he passed away. Services were held at Our Lady of Assumption Church. He will be buried at the National Cemetery in Sante Fe on March 18 at 11 a.m. |
